Smiles & Frowns: Kids View is a companion app to regular Smiles & Frowns. They work together to let your kids sync automatically to their behavior boards on their own devices, safely and securely. With Kids View, your kids can follow their progress anytime from their own devices. And when you enable the Kids Requests feature, they can even give themselves Smiles and Frowns for your approval.
Getting started with Kids View is easy.
Just install Smiles & Frowns on your adult devices and Smiles & Frowns: Kids View on each of your children’s devices. Then go to Settings > Manage Kids View or swipe left on any child’s row on a your board and tap Kids View. This will take you to the Kids View set-up screen. Anytime you need to make any adjustments to your Kids View account, this is the place.
Use the toggle buttons to set your preferences for your child. A slide down screen will appear. Enter a password, touch Set Password, and you’ll get a unique login code for that child. Then go to the Kids View app on your child’s device and use this code and password to login. Voila! In seconds, your child’s device will be synced to the board.
Your child can always see and explore their own behaviors, rewards and progress. You also set it so they can see the other kids on the boards. But the big super power is enabling Kids Requests so they can mark their own Smiles and Frowns for you to approve.
Using Kids Requests changes the game.
So, how does it all work? It’s a natural!
IF YOU’RE A KID:
Once Kids Requests are enabled, you child will be able award Smiles and Frowns – just like the adults do – and submit them for your approval. They’ll also be able to see the status of their requests in the new MY REQUESTS tab on the bottom of the screen. It will show Green for approved, Yellow for approved but changed (along with notes from parents) and Red for denied.
IF YOU’RE AN ADULT:
When a child puts in a request, you’ll get a red notification badge on the Requests tab at the bottom of your board. Just tap on the tab and you’ll see the requests. You can select multiple requests and tap Approve Selected to approve at once. Or you can tap on the orange button on any individual request to approve, deny or change it. Approved requests will appear in your child’s review screen (just tap their profile pic) like any other Smile or Frown.
